Student Care and Support
The school prides itself on a high standard of care and support. Past students have commented on how friendly and helpful the teachers and staff are. Students can approach staff with any concerns and they will try to help to the best of their ability.
Student feedback is welcomed and any positive suggestions or criticism regarding lessons, teachers, support or facilities will be considered and acted upon where valid.
Student Help
The school responds positively to requests from the students for help and support.
Activities the school can help with on request:
ü Help with Bank account opening formalities.
ü Registration with the local police.
ü Guidance on personal safety and care of valuables.
ü Guidance on medical and personal insurance.
ü Medical and dental registration – NHS Direct.
ü Local places of worship.
ü Traffic regulations.
ü Licensing laws
ü Compliance with law of the land, drugs, motoring, procedures in case of arrest.
ü Guidance on local and tourist facilities.
ü Help with student card applications.
ü Assistance with filling in forms.
ü Proof reading and printing of CV’s.
ü Guidance on looking for jobs, how to find the Job centre, Job Agencies etc.
ü Assistance with filling in Job Application forms.
ü Print out travel tickets.
ü Guidance on travel arrangements.
ü Council tax forms and Student Council tax relief letters.
ü And other activities related to care and support of students.
The school staff are not trained advisers on higher education but have helped students to find UCAS and local university contact details.
Most students require bank accounts and the school has given letters to help registered students apply for new bank accounts.
The school also gives letters to help students get “Student Cards”.
Administration and teaching staff at the school have helped students compose CV’s. The school has printed copies of students CV’s so they can apply for jobs.
The school sometimes gives reference letters for students who have been with the school for some time, for job or UCAS applications.

The school has a computer area for the use of students.
The school has free “WIFI” and students are welcome to bring in their laptop computers and hook up to the school WIFI.
